We Love Manchester: Menagerie host star studded charity fundraiser evening

Last month we teamed up with Real Housewives of Cheshire star Seema Malhotra and businessman Chris Healing to raise money for a cause extremely close to our hearts, the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund. The event was attended by over 400 glamorous guests, including stars from TOWIE and The Real Housewives of Cheshire. Amongst the star-studded attendees was our courageous guest of honour, 8-year-old Lily Harrison, who was injured in the attacks. Lily wore her Ariana Grande inspired kitten ears in tribute to those affected by the Manchester Terror Attacks.

The evening was hosted by Heart FM’s Lorna Bancroft and Capital FM Breakfast’s Rachel Burke-Davies, who kicked off the night’s entertainment by introducing an exclusive Forever Unique fashion show. The fashion show was followed by an illuminating performance from Menagerie’s very own aerial acrobats & fire breathers. X-Factor & I’m a Celebrity star, Jake Quickenden, then took to our catwalk for a special performance dedicated to Lily.

Capital Breakfast DJ Rob Ellis then presented a live auction, in which Boxer Ricky Hatton took to the stage to auction his own signed gloves to the highest bidder. Real Housewives of Cheshire Star Stacey Forsey also auctioned a piece of her highly acclaimed art, after she bid herself and won a fabulous designer dress for her glamorous mum who accompanied her on the evening.

When presenting the final total, Seema surprised fellow fundraiser Chris with a generous donation of £5000.00 from Forever Unique, smashing the original £20,000.00 fundraising target for the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund, dramatically increasing the total raised to an amazing £27,000.00.

Later in the evening, Lily poignantly released 200 pink balloons into the night sky in loving memory of all those lost in the tragedy.

The team at Menagerie want to say a huge thank you to everyone involved in helping to make it such a successful and inspiring event. If you haven’t yet donated, you can easily do so via the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund’s JustGiving page
